Which submersible sump pump?

Hello
I have received a ton of help on here with planning my 150 gallon reef. So far Ive gone with 3 250w 14 K hamiltons with Icecap ballasts for lighting and a BM 200 for my Skimmer. I plan to use either a 40 or old 55 gallon as my sump. That will give me room for refugium as well. My question is which return pump to buy? Im looking at the Eheim and Oceanrunners mostly. Probably Eheim 1262 ?? With 150 gallons at 5 feet of head that would give around 5x circ right? Then I could add some propeller pumps in the tank for the rest right?

Thanks for everything!!

Eheims are excellent pumps and the 1262 would be a good match for you. The only problem with Eheims is they use metric fittings but from what Ive read, you can use a 3/4" male threaded PVC piece, just wrap the threads more than normal with teflon tape.

For extra flow, you can go with powerheads, Tunzes etc. What type of corals do you plan on keeping?

Ocean Runners are a much better choice. An Ehem 1260 pumps 634 GPH at 65 watts and costs $120 at Drs. Foster & Smith. An OceanRunner 2500 pumps 650 GPH at only 38 watts and costs $44 at the same place.
An Eheim 1262 pumps 898 GPH at 80 watts and costs $130 again at the Doctors. The Ocean Runner 3500 pumps 900 GPH at only 65 watts and costs $52 at the same place. I have been using OceanRunners for years with great results. I think the numbers speak for themselves.

i'm running an ocean runner 2500 from my sump. very quiet. Not as quiet as an eheim, but really close. Definitely a great pump.

I have an opportunity to get a mag drive for a skimmer supply pump for a good deal, but if they are loud, I'm not interested. Are they loud?

OceanRunner and Eheim are both much quieter and much cooler than Mags. I hate the Mag on my calcium reactor, it will soon be changed out.
