Just looking for advice from the experts...

Ordered a new tank (acrylic) 42" x 30" x 30" approx. 131 uk gallons.

Trying to decide which tunze pumps to buy...

I like the idea of the Tunze Turbelle Classic Pumps 4002, minimal seen in the tank and little heat generation in the water volume. But the question is are the streams a much better buy interms of bang for buck. And if so which combination would I need for the above tank.

Thank you in advance

The Turbelle Classic are nice for the reasons you mentioned. They also will last the longest, I have repaired 2002 and 4002 pumps that are more than 20 years old. 2 4002 would be a good bet.

The downside of the 4002 is they are high maintanence, they have an old fashionde motor with bearings and every year or two you have to strip them down and rebuild them which can take an hour per pump and after you have some practice you can probably do it in 20 minutes. The bearings and some shims and washers wear out periodically. They are also more expensive to control.

I might suggest 2 6000 Stream but if you feel absolutely comfortable with the DIY pump rotator I can see how one would work fine.

Thanks for the replys guys.

rvitko... what is the cost of the spares for the 4002?
