Mine seem to respond best to Reef Crest and Lagoon Modes. I have 2 MP40's on each side of a 6 foot 150 and change from Lagoon to Reef Crest each week after a water change. All are in synch mode.

I am surprised not more SPS enthusiests use the Nutrient Export Mode, I have been using it for a while, my second favorite mode is inline with the majority of votes and thats Reef Crest.

i have 4 mp40 on my 7foot tank on full blast reef crest and my color loves it .. they are on sync... backed up with a tunze 6215 wave box

i tried out the NTM on my 2 40's, but kept getting a wave that liked coming over the sides of the tank. now running both 40's on antisync in reef crest at 80% on a 75g

yellow two dots on the 3-4 light position. 100%. mp10s in anti sync i think.
that seems to be the best for me and the noise level is minimal. in a 26 gallon bow.

I've tried running Lagoon mode with my 2x MP10's on Anti-sync, based on my observation, in Lagoon mode the slave pumps only operates at sub-50% thrust most of the time, which means I'm basically wasting half the potential flow capability of my slave pump.

Therefore running Reef Crest mode will be better.

This graph from the manual shows you that the master pump put in Lagoon mode is mostly running from 50-100%, which means the slave pump on anti-sync will only be running from 10-50%, while in Reef Crest both pumps cycles from 10-100% in a random rotation.

I don't think that is true, because you can set the max speed of your slave pumps, maybe you had your slave pump's max speed at 50% because the slave pump is going to run at either the same speed as the master in the sync mode, or it will run the inversed speed in anti sync.

I run 2 x MP10's on my 47G tank in reef crest mode. I have the new and old gen MP10's so no syncing etc, BUT the flow is very random and I have the most awesome polyp extension....they sway slowly this way and then that way...then they sway like mad this way and that way...It is most pleasing to watch.

So Reefcrest all the way! :)

I've been using it for a while as well but lately I have started to second guess it. The pulsing is great and it doesn't put too much stress on the bearings since it goes into a constant speed and also stops for a few seconds. I'm just wondering if the pulsing is kind of redundant.

In NEM, it feel like two steps forward and one step back. My system had more of a circular pattern back when I had tunzes. Basically, it was alternating between clockwise and counter clockwise patterns. I'm starting to feel like that is the best type of flow for sps. I'm going back to the Reef Crest and change the position of the pumps to achive the circular pattern.
