Which wrasse?

I'm looking to add an interesting wrasse to my new 195 sps reef. So many of them are prone to jumping, so I thought I'd ask here which ones are beautiful, small (3 inches or so) and don't jump. I will have an established Sixline Wrasse in the tank that has been with me for over 4 years, but new to this tank.

I believe that about all wrasses will jump. Having a 6-Line in there (which generallly is a little on the aggresive side) may push some fish to jump (especially when first added to the tank). Personally, I would always recomend screens with any wrasse.

They are all prone to jumping. Do you not have a top on your tank?

Also, I would be concerned once another wrasse gets thrown in with the sixline.

I agree with this. The six line will pretty much dominate any wrasse that gets put in there. Your only saving grace may be the size of your tank. With that being said Id go for something like a mystery, or one of the tri-colored fairys such as the solar fairy, or lubbocks fairy.

There is no top to the tank. Just a canopy and two 400 watt halides with VHO actinic.

I never realized the Sixline was such an aggressive wrasse. Mine's such a wimp. Doesn't bother anyone and weaves in and out of the rocks all day looking for goodies. I use to have a Christmas wrasse with him but sold him off before I broke down my last tank to start this one up.

You are one of the few...meaning under 5 people that have claimed to have a model citizen sixline. But that could very well change with the introduction to another wrasse.

Even some with tanks larger than yours have claimed their sixline terrorized the whole tank, including fish 10x its size
