You should find a new fish store. Anemones NEED light.

+1. That is terrible advice. You have two choices at this point: (1) install a suitable light fixture within the next week or (2) re-home the anemone to a hobbyist or LFS that can properly care for it.

Also, 40 ppm nitrates are more than a little high. That likely did not cause the bleaching, but will be detrimental in the long run.

Light Light Light... Their color is based on photosenthsis. Yeah your LFS is lacking a LOT! WOW That is really sad!

All good advice the only thing I'd add is if it's that bleached it has expelled all of its zooxanthellae. Light alone won't bring it back so some light spot feeding will help.

Cant believe the LFS told you that. I would go there and bash the hell out of the guy. What a douch.. I dont think the problem is your nitrates,, give it light and food!!

I've set my sights on a Led setup I'm getting off Amazon it's a Current USA orbit marine led 48 inch for my 75 gallon I've since then switched my lfs for that bs information I'm trying to feed my bta small pieces of silversides or what do you guys recommend is better I also have mysis shrimp but I need the syringe to target feed if I'm correct I really want to save my bta especially since Nike (clownfish) has hired it. And thank you guys for the help

LFS said no light is alright? Holy .... They must need money BAD.

You definitely need to get proper lights in there. They do eat most things but light is also a good food source. It IS a must.

Can't blame it all on the lfs. U obviously have access to the Internet and could hv done a bit of research before buying the animal.

OK Lets keep going forward. Give him a hand and try to keep this guy on the healthy side.

Any updates?
