I kind of mentioned this in a previous thread, but the answers revolved around hiding and erratic swimming from stress. My concern is the whit areas around the gills. I bit difficult to see from the pictures, but advice or information would be appreciated.
I wonder if it's the start of HLLE (head and lateral line erosion) which happens in tangs fed too much mysis and not enough seaweed. Try Selcon for a while, see if that helps.
I feed Spirulina flakes twice a day and attach a piece of Nori to a clip. I have 3 PJ Cardinals so I feed small amount of frozen meaty food in the evening.
I have a kole and chevron tang that regularly come up with white blotches. The only thing I can figure is they "scratch" themselves trying to fit into tight rocks. Mine go away after a couple of days and have never been a problem.
