White Leg Hermit Crab?

Nano simplicity
I recently ordered some White Leg Hermit Crab (Clibanarius sp) from reefs2go with other cleaning crews. These guys caught my eyes right away! They are so active, so fast, even in the bags that they are shipped in! :bounce2:

Has anyone had any experiences with them? I am a little concerned that with their speed, they can be Axx holes? They already start to pick on little snails when acclimating. :hmm6:

I can't take good pics so I just took the pic from their website, you gotta see these guys moving. Its more like sprint!

It's hard sometimes to tell 100% with crabs but that looks like an Acadian Hermit. Does he have orange stripes at all?

These hermits are really cool, but they grow really fast. In 5 months they have went from pea size to about a inch(their claws get large also). I can't keep any nassarius snails in my tank because the white legs attack them on site(and they are well fed) plus they ate a couple of my orange turbo snails. One more issue that I've had with them is they harass my masked goby. He tends to hang out at the bottom of the tank and they seem to want to try him out for dinner lol. They are extremely hardy crabs though and have alot of personality.

I know this is an old thread, but I'm going to add my 2 cents anyway for anyone who stumbles on it as I have...

I got 10 white legged hermits in a cleanup crew I ordered online (March 2017). Only one survived past the first few weeks. He's gotten pretty big in 10 months and has moved into the largest shell in the tank... ~1.5-2" across. He is VERY active like macboat said and I give much of the credit for a clean sand bed clean in my 90 gallon to this guy. Here's the downside, and I can't be 100% sure he's guilty, but a few weeks back, I caught him chowing down on my Yellow Watchman Goby. Only a day or so before that, I had noticed how nice and plump the YWG was form all the pods he'd been eating. I had not lost any fish for months before that and have not lost any since. So I'm seriously thinking about pulling him out of the tank so I can get another goby.
