white on flame angel gill

I have a flame angel in QT and there is a white thing resembling a tiny worm hanging out of his gill. He has been through 3 weeks of cupramine and two treatments of prazipro but its still there.

I then did a freshwater did (nothing found in bowl) and tried to remove with tweezers. It's still there.

Any ideas? Not sure if its some kind of fungus and I could use some thoughts om identification in order to properly treat.

Post pics if you can. It could be something bacterial or maybe even Lympho. If it truly is a "worm"; I would suspect an anchor worm - treatable with Dimilin.

Here is a picture, appears there are now two white "things" hanging off of his right gill.

Thoughts?

Looks kinda like Lympho to me (a virus which usually goes away on it's own). Does it have a cottony look to it?

I should add it also moves when he swims... It's not stiff like a spine rather it flexes a bit.

I'm far from 100% on this diagnosis, but my "best guess" is it's Lympho. Anchor worms aren't usually white. The thing that causes me concern is Lympho usually starts on a fin or tail - not on the gill. Maybe someone else will chime in with a different opinion.

Not knowing exactly what it could be, are there medications I can use that are more general in nature? I've used cupramine, prazipro and a freshwater dip.

I'm open to adding something to try and help this guy.

You are doing more prophylactic treatment than I do (I don't do the f/w dip). But I would suggest keeping a broad spectrum antibiotic on hand (i.e. Furan-2, Maracyn Plus) just in case it's needed.

If this is Lympho, soak his food in vitamin supplements and maintain excellent water quality. Symptoms from this virus usually subside on it's own. It's basically just "fish herpes".

Came home today and looked at his gill... the white is gone!

Could it really just disappear overnight with Lympho or does this indicate I am dealing with something else?

Sounds like something Lympho would do; it can disappear as suddenly as it begins.
