White Pom-Pom Xenia

I would buy or trade for a frag of the White Pom-Pom Xenia. Have never had that type yet....currently have the striped and red sea types.

John,
I sent you a picture by email. Mine are not pure white, the polyps are pale beige.

Your pic looks similar to the frags that SOMEthinsFISHY had at the March meet. It might be worth sending John a pm. I got 3 of these frags from him and while they are quite small at this point they seem to have a similar form. Mine do have a pink tinge to them.

Hope the lead pans out for you.

Tim

Xenia types

This discussion illustrates how difficult xenia are to categorize. For comparative purposes, I've taken three pictures of the three types I have. Two of mine originally came from purchases at Penny's , the third (the "pink" type) was a trade from a club member. The pink type stays shorter and has thicker "petals" on the polyp. The "thinbar" type has very long, thin bases for each polyp and tends to grow very tall. The "pom" type has a thicker stem and the polyps stay closer to the stem, forming a pom-type grouping. All pulse energetically in my tanks. The thinbar type is more weedy, multiplies rapidly and wanders into its neighbors regularly. The picture shows a whole wall of this stuff that grows on the back glass of my smaller tank. I have all types available for trade most of the time. I'm sure there are lots more types that haven't made their way into our local tanks yet.

Wow, I LOVE the pom type. I have the pink red sea and the thin bar type. In my 120g reef I want to grow xenias up the wall of the overflow to camo it a bit. I'd love to get a frag or two when I have it set up sometime around June or so. I'm also looking for a frag or two of the yellow silver something. The only place I've seen it is Fosters and Smith.
