Has anyone had these host Oscellaris, I think they will but I need re-assurance? Anyone had these Sebae's live long? By long I mean around a year! I know that in the wild they will host Sebae Clowns but ... they often host any kind of clown but once again I need some sort of re-assurance! Thanks Reefers!

Yes, mine has hosted 3 A. ocellaris over the course of 11+years. They can still be difficult anemones, though. I actually found mine in an in-the-middle-of-nowhere store (where the owner had no clue what was going on) and it was extremely healthy to begin with. I encourage you to find one with a brown, purple, or greenish tinge. Look in my gallery to see reasonably good coloration of a sebae.

WoW that's a giant sebae :D ... The only one's I see around here are totally white with purple tips :( which I know is not so healthy because the process of bleaching from starvation has already begun. When you got your's was it white with purple tips or some other coloration?!

I have a sebae and my clowns wont host it :( Theyre an ocellaris pair. He has an anemone shrimp hosting him now instead so he is well looked after.

You can't tell from the pics, but she is green/brown. She had that color when I bought her.

Chocolate mine was totally bleached when I got it and it took about 4 months to color up. Now it is a rich dark green/brown and very large. It is kept under 6x54W T5HO lighting and was fed 3xw with mostly silversides soaked in Selcon. Feeding was decreased to 1xw when coloring improved. It is about the size of a dinner plate when fully expanded. My percs never looked at it and finally got 2 tomatoe clowns who took to it almost immediately.

my tb onyx just now started hosting my sebae after 3 days. It was white when i bought it but its starting get some tan spots. I personally like solid white. Been feeding it once a day.

I have one, it was completely bleached when I got it. Unfortunately, I didn't realize it at the time. I did it backwards and got the nem first and did the research second. Luckily, the poor thing didn't have to suffer for my backwards thinking mind! It's now between salad plate and dinner plate size, and a nice beige color with purple tips. When we got it, it was only about base ball size. We invested in MH (wanted them anyway) lighting, and started feeding with mysis shrimp, it was small enough that it didn't cause stress, every other day. We also extended our light cycle for it. Don't know if that helped or not, although the hair algae really liked it! After a week or two we kept up with the mysis, but added clam to the offerings, and it loved it!
I got it because the color was so pretty, all bright white and everything, I never thought I would find this beige color so attractive!
We're in the midwest, and I don't think I've ever seen a sebae come in unbleached. There may be different levels of bleaching, but most here are pretty white.
BTW, we got ours about 1 1/2 years ago, and our two ocells love it! Went to it almost immediately!

I just bought a small sebae and my black occ is already trying to get rid of the porcelain crab that is hosting the sebae. It took about two days to figure out that it was a nem and now I think its going to be full out war. Oh yeah, I bought mine from an LFS here that swore it was dying because it was turning beige!!!!! I told them that was actually a good thing and they would not believe me:D. Oh well, thats why I got it and the crab for ten bucks.

Unfortunately, 99.9999999999% of them that come in here are also bleached. I was just EXTREMELY lucky to get one in the kind of shape that I did.
