White root creatures growing on live rock - Any ideas ??

Hi

I'm new to the hobby so apologies if this has been covered before.

My tank has been set up now for approaching a year. I have recently noticed an increasing number of white root like creatures growing on the mid to lower rocks. They have fan style heads which come out and from time snap back in quickly.

Does anyone have any ideas what these are and if they are harmful or a pest.

I have posted a couple of photos to hopefully help.

Thanks

JD :D

I think those are feather dusters and they are good critters if I am not mistaken. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

Thanks Chaps. I just wanted to be sure they are ok.

In the first few months of setting it up I had a bad outbreak of Red Flatworm and it was a pain to get rid of. If these are good I will not worry.

Thanks again

those are some nice size dusters. as they get bigger some develop some nice colors.. But like most filter feeders they can disappear as quickly as they show up
