White spots on LR

We just started our 46g tank 3 days ago. We have live sand and live rock (from TBSaltwater). We have done the required water changes when the ammonia gets high (can't get the ammonia level lower than .25). Yesterday, we noticed small white spots on the surface of the rocks. When we got up this morning, we noticed that they are growing! HELP! Is this normal? Is it dying? We are new to sw. We would appreciate any help!

It will take some time to cycle. If it is AM stays under one, leave it alone and let the cycle happen. If you are trully at .25 you are close to being complete. Should take a week to complete. Relax, check parameters each morning and night.

Thanks for your help. I am like a new parent.. watching every little thing and looking for problems when they aren't there! I will take your advice and relax and enjoy! I have read quite a few posts and they are all helpful. Thanks again.

I am ammazed at how much happens from day to day in a tank. With so much life on the rock, you will notice new things everyday. Have been watching a sea urchin grow before my eyes for the last week or so. He is not the size of a pencil eraser. As the tank matures a little you will see alot more creatures begin to venture out into your new world. I am finding the less you mess with it, the better. Nature knows best I guess.
