yesterday i was looking a my glass and notice little star looking things attached all over my glass. it almost looks like a chip until you see the leg or tenicals . they are to small to get a pic of . they are a white color at the point of attachment and like a grayish color "legs" any ideas?

Asterina stars, most likely.

I wouldn't worry about it since it was on your glass. Some have been reported to eat corals but they are a small minority.

They could also be some small jellies that often appear in new tanks but eventually go away on their own. They are also reputed to be fairly harmless....unless you're a small pod.:D

Pics would be nice for a positive ID but sometimes we just have to guess.

might help you know if thats what it is

"Cycling" last for a minimum of 6 months but in a lot of cases a year or more.

That doesn't mean that you can't add fish and corals prior to that but that is what it takes to go through all the bacterial phases. Then for a tank to truly become established it can take even longer depending on what you feed and how much live rock, pods and extra life you have in the tank.

thanks for the info guys , i do have about 140 lbs of live rock. tons of bristle worms and pods . the bristle worms have actually been siffting through my substrait like crazy worms . its rather entertaining !
