White stuff on Monti's

I was wondering if this looks familier to anyone. This is on my sunset monti and a little on my montipora spongodes. It looks like white coming out of the polyps or what happens if tissue is damaged. I thought first being monti eating nudi's but the white stuff is not movable by blowing or with tweezers and I can't see any critters. I do not have time to test my water right now but will shortly but evertything is doing ok so may not be too bad. Alk is usually running low and so is PH. I will post water perameters as soon as possible. I did add Seachem reef builder raises carbonate alk. to my sump. could that not have been mixed well enough and landed on coral and "burned"it? No other corals affected.

Hard to tell in that picture. Montipora seem to be good measures of water quality. When things are bad they look bad. I would def do some testing.

Will do. My other 5 types of monti's are doing well and my clowns keep laying eggs so water can't be too bad (I hope). I did notice that after messing with the sunset monty it closed up and the white seemed to also retract with the polyps I need a better magifying glass or better eyes.I am not used to SPS as I have had softies for the last 20yrs. These are a new ball game. I will test water this weekend sooner if I can.

I will post water perameters tomorrow. I did notice that at times the white retracts? an is not there. It may be something the coral is doing on its own . I will update *** soon as I get some free time. TGIF!!!!!!!

Is it possibly baby snails? I have a bunch in my tank and when the lights come on in the morning there are typically small snails on my montis.

THey're mesenteric flaments. Sometimes a response to stress, sometimes just a feeding response. Judging from the photo it's not in top shape and I would assume something is off with a parameter.

I think Peter is spot on!! I am very embarrassed at my water perameters. Don't kill me. Be gentle.
Ca 275ppm
Alk 7.7dkh
Mg 1140ppm:eek:
No3 20ppm
Po4 0
Ph 8
temp 80
salinity 1.025
I was really shocked at my calcium level:facepalm::. I am used to having all softies and these hard corals must use a lot more. I am fixing these levels ASAP
BAD BAD REEFER.....

We all have our moments...hahahha

Well I finally got my Mg up and now working on my calcium. I read that raising the Mg from being so low your snails act "drunk". Wondering when will this wear off? I was wondering how my Mg got so low but figured it was the salt mix being not that great. Thanks for the help.
