ok so i have a pair of gold strip marroon clowns and after about 3 days of getting them i had to qt them for a while and treat them for brook. now i just did my last dip tonight. and over the last few days ive noticed on the females bottom lip a little whitish speck that started getting a little bigger, she is eating fine and eveyrthing. now the first thing that came to mind was that maybe she swam into sumthing in the qt basically dead coral pieces and she hurt her bottom lip and its just healing but i want to be sure. any help would greatly be appreciated.

your treated her with formalin for the dip?

Is there an open sore/abrasion or more of a growth>?

How is the water quality that they are in?

yes i treated her and her mate and a sunburst anthias in 3 formalin dips. its kinda wierd looking kinda looks bubbly kinda graish looks a little smaller today. still eating great. the water is 30 gallons from my 220 reef with reg parameters and the other 25 gallons was fresh salt water, and a sponge from my reef sump in the tank for biological filtration.

Maybe she has Lymphocystis. It a virus.

If you look that up and see some images to see if that is what you are seeing.

If it is its a virus, so really no antibotics will help. Water quality and good diet and more often then not that condition will clear in time.

awesome sounds good ill look up some things and go from there. Ya im going to keep both of them in qt untill they are perfect anyways. they eat twice daily garlic soaked food ;) to fatten them up and it is definately working
