Who can drill a tank near Charleston?

I need to get a tank drilled for the output of my glass sump. Anyone know who can do it around here?

I just went to JoMars and purchased a new 55 a little bit ago. While we were looking at we noticed that it says that it is tempered glass, do not drill panels.

The good news is that I talked to Phil and he told me how he has his setup so I am going to go the up and over route with the pvc instead.

When I called Fuji his son told me that they can drill 55's. However, they can only do up to 1" bulkheads. I thought about getting two of them drilled (for $45 each) but decided not to risk it. I would hate to ruin a brand new tank.

Found out that Perfecto 55 gallon tanks are all tempered glass. I have decided to return the tank and get a 75 gallon instead. I ordered a hole saw from www.glass-holes.com and two 1.5" bulkheads.

Wish me luck!

Good luck. Let us know how the drilling goes and what you think of glass-holes. I hope to be close behind you but I only need to drill a single hole. Not sure what size yet...

I ordered the bit for a 1.5" bulkhead. If you go with that size let me know and I will loan you the hole saw.

I decided to go with a 2" bulkhead instead of two 1.5" bulkheads. So, if you decide to go with a 2" bulkhead let me know and you can borrow the hole saw. :)

So you building a sump for your FW tank? I'd like to find a glass 75g tank to build another sump/fuge if I could find one cheap. I have a 55g now and would like the extra width. I might end up getting another 6' tank.

Yes, I am doing a new fresh water tank. Here is the stand that we built for it yesterday, still need to do some trim, put the sides on and paint it.

Here is the sump design. I am planning four filter socks rather than the two the picture shows though.

This thing is going to weigh quite a bit, almost two tons total! I want to make sure it isn't going anywhere. I'm probably going to build a stand very similar to this one to put the 210 on that way both tanks set even. They are going to be in an "L" shape in my dining room so I don't want it to look like I just threw a couple of tanks in there.

Just received the holesaw from www.glass-holes.com today. I ordered it on Sunday, shipped on Monday, received on Wednesday. On top of that they included free candy, can't beat that! All in all not too bad, about $23 and free shipping.
