Who do I believe now???

in my experience dosing iodine can be helpfull, mostly to invertebrates that molt, like shrimp.
i regulary dose iodine, but only half the recommended amount. adn it has not affected my anemones.
i have noticed that overdosign with iodine can have nasty affects on some soft coral, such as Xenia.

I have had a sebae over six years no iodine. If I had iodine and trace elements to sell, Iââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢d say you need it or all your corals and anemones will die or not EXPAND .

All you actually need is kalkwasser and water changes.

If anemones are fed well, I doubt you will have to worry about any trace element deficiencies, etc. I have dosed iodine with anemones and not--both methods for years. Currently, the tank has gone for 4 years without iodine and I see no observable difference in any behavior. IME/O, extra iodine addition is completely unnecessary for anemone health.
