Im in the market for one. My main concern is the top brace. Should I be concerned any issue with that or anything else Im missing?

Oceanics are buit like a Sherman Tank. You have nothing to be concerned about. The top brace gets in the way a bit when you're aquascaping during your innitial set-up, but after that it's a non issue. If it gets salt creep on it that you want to remove, moisten a paper towel with vinigar, and wrap it around the brace for a couple of hours.

the glass on mine was thick enough to affect the brightness of my pc lights.... but the shermen tankedness helped me sleep at night.

good solid tank!

I have a AGA 125 RR tank with two top braces. I never had a problems with shadows or anything. I use the braces as a shelf to hold small tools while working on the tank.

I don't think that is a good way of putting it since the Sherman tank was a piece of crap.

MRCORAL just as long as you don't have a MH light directly over the center brace then you should be fine.

How large is the brace? Is it just in the middle? You would think the AGA might be better for the braces.

There are two braces on the AGA 125 Reef Ready tank. They are located at 1/3 and 2/3 of the tank. They are solid black plastic and approx. 3" wide. The top trim of the tank and braces are one piece . Is AGA better in regards to braces, I would not know. I can say, I never had any problems with this tank.

I've had an Oceanic 135 RR for years, and I have no issues with the brace. Today Just today I scraped some buildup off of the INSIDE of the brace... first time in 3 years I've had to do that. The brace is 17-3/4" wide, centered in the tank.

Downtown that is a huge brace!! So does the light go threw it no problem? I would think the heat from the light and salt water getting on the brace would be a issue. Is it glass brace?
