way back few years ago i had a cirrhilabrus rhomboidalis fairy wrasse. i had it only a few weeks. I paid a hefy fortune back then. Anyone had success in keeping these fishes alive??

planning to get one soon don't know when.

it did so well in the tank with other inhabitants, it was eating then just a few weeks after it was getting chewed up by all snails and crabs.

Trust me, they do jump. Not IF but WHEN

i totally agree..fairy wrasses are expert jumpers and can always find the smallest hole to get through..but the fish you have in question are pretty tough once they get acclimated they are fine..what other fish do you have in your tank?

A friend, IIRC, has had 4 total, with only one surviving any length of time. From random up and dying, to swim bladder issues....

I have had one for about 1 1/2 years now. He has been a model fish and eats everything I drop in the tank. Like everone is saying it is a pretty hardy fish.

The first one I got though had been eating and seemed to be doing pretty well and then all of a suden showed signs of Swim Bladder then perished.

A great fish though!

I love them.

Yes it is. I'm always haveing stores calling me saying they have certain wrasses for sale.
Once the words out that you love wrasses, they come to you.

I love wrasses, and i have had most of them in my tank at one point or another. All mine needed to be de wormed. I treated all of them with clout and they were pretty healthy after that. I dont miss the jumping though.

Bradelyj your wrasses are amazing!! do you know what their lifespan is in captivity , how long have you had yours?

I've had many of them for over 3 years now. I lost about ten of them to a virus about a year ago but have since brought my stock back up.

Do you have 3 Rhomboids in that tank? Is it 1 male and 2 females? Your females look like males, they are beautiful.
