I am plumbing the 57 gallon clam tank into my sps reef tanks sump, both the sps reef and the clam tank will be side by side. The plumbing will be under the sand, and I will use just enough rock to hide the 5 lock line plumbing nozzels in the clam tank, Ill have a my croceas on the shallow rocks, So the rock formation will basicly be a back wall with a slight horse shoue bend to it. Ill hand a single DE 250 pendant over the tank....and It should have a lower light zone around the edges so I can move what few lps softies and zoanthids out of the sps reef over into the clam tank. as far as pics...I just have the 2 x 4 and 2 x6 frame for the stand built, need to grab some 1/4 inch oak ply wood, molding, some pre fab oak cabinent doors...and a afternnons work should finish the stand after i have it prept for plumbing.
I have a mag 7 for the return pump
I have 100lbs of super fine sized sand.
a PFO single 250 HQI ballast, PFO mini pendant, 14k AC 250 DE
I have some plumbing suppys on the way to my home, still need to purchase some lock line fittings, ball valves and check valves, Ill be ordering soon a 60 gallon cube from glasscages.com and have that riged up as the clam tanks sump/refugium that will inturn drain into the sps/reef tanks sump....so all and all im adding basicly 120 gallons water volume to a 75 sps reef.....More pics will be made once I have supplys in....also my reefclub buddy shiller has the same tank as I do and we are both working on clam tanks at the same time, Its still a pretty expensive project By the time its said and done will have spent over a grand and did a lot of diy to keep costs down....
