Who here successfully keeps a starfish

I've had a sand sifter for 18 months and had a linkia for 10 months. Hope this on lives as long as my sandsifter has..

Ive kept one in my tank for 3 years. Couldn't tell you what kind it is. It looks like the ones that you see in a touch tank. light brown and white. He was adopted. Otherwise I wouldnt have one.

My kids love it though.

I have a serpent that's easily 12 years old. I've also an orange linkia for a long time until I got a harlequin shrimp haha

I made the blue boo boo early on :). I have not tried a star in years but they always tickle my fancy. I often see the marble ones on dd.

Thanks still figuring out exactly what and how to care for it.. So far its a Iconaster longimanus or icon star sometimes called double star. Today its up on the overflow so I'm hoping its gonna roam like a my linkia did. The sand sifter keeps the sand bed very clean.

I have had a sandsifter for almost 2 years and I finally got brave and bicked up a red linkia 2 months ago so far so good

I have a tiger serpent brittle star.... I am fairly positive he ate my 2 helfrichs, oh well! I see an arm every once in a while

James, is that the one we were eyeballing the other day? I like it. What does it eat?

Don't really know what it eats other than stuff you cant see.. It seems to be popular opinion to try and supplement their diets with meaty food. I was thinking of making a shelter for the sand bed to hide some food for it but I am not sure. As long as its moving around and spending time in different places I am going to leave it alone. It would be hard to keep the fish and other crabs away from the food.
