Who here uses 250 DE bulbs and what brand?

I'm using them. PlusRite (Ebay-trust_deals) DE. 3x 14k 250w. I really liked them until the one stopped working for no reason.

I've used pulserite before. They're ok, but I'm not happy with the colors...they just don't always give you what you're looking for. Overall though, I'd say for the money, they're about what you'd expect....it's just especially with only 1 light running now, I'll spend the extra $30 to get an XM or Phoenix

I have a 48in odyessea fixture that i am trying to sell. You could always borrow it if your using it for your smaller tanks. It has 10k bulbs in it but i do have spare 14k phoenix bulbs for it.

or you could just buy it for $300.LOL to go along with all your other fixtures.

Has it also has 4 65w compacts.

Now that Phoenix makes a SE bulb, I'm also thinking about making that my next bulb. Also kicking around the idea of buying an HQI just so that I can run a Radium...but fortunately my bulb has about 8 months of life in it yet, so I don't have to make this decision for a while.

DE Phoenix 250's and loving them. They are the best metal halides I've ever used.

IME phoenix kind of washed out colors. I liked the helios/EVC 20k much better.

I run Phoenix 14k 250w DE on a generic dual electronic ballasts. I get an icy blue look. I was never too crazy about the 20k bulbs as they are too blue for my taste. You'll have to come see them in person.

Phoenix 14K and XM 15K are what I use in my office tank = 250 HQI pendent with no actinic supplement. I think it looks good as far as color with either bulb and have decent growth with both also.

feel like dropping that price? they are 329.00 brand new on aquatraders site. i just ordered that light but with t5's but they told me they are out of stock on them.

I have my 72in maristar with 3 14k phoenix. I actually turn off my t5s while they are on and you can barely tell the difference.
