I am reading so much on Rods onyx clowns, is this guy a breeder? Where do you go to find his livestock? I guess I could try pairing the true percula with the onyx clown, I just hope they pair up and not fight, any suggestions how to pair 2 clowns is appreciated, thanks.

he is a breeder he has consistantly similar onyx clowns they all come from one pair and the onyx is a tru perc clown just a different coloration how big is your perc i just got two yesterday from rod they are really nice lil clowns i was looking for something hardy and exotic in a clown and everyone on here told me to get them from him

here are my babys he sent me two that are different sizes the larger one already has the distinctive black dorsal fin read the rods onyx thread from the begining tons of info there

as far as pairing the clowns it should be something you can do i have a method i used to pair my maroons that will help you if you get there

still perfect to pair with a rodonyx his are under an inch the size difference and keeping them separated when they are introduced is key let them get used to the sight of eachoter i used a specimin container with lil holes drilled in it

Maybe it would be better to trade off for a pair or just keep my clown now. I want to keep him but I don't want to shove another one in a box for days I guess. Just he doesn't do anything but stay in the left side of the tank where he might swim around and do something with another one.

no they will pair im telling you its just to calm the initial aggreresion and when working with small clowns its easy rods clowns are coming out of breeding tanks and are totally sexless so the fact that the other is larger will help alot

my maroon never did anything but hide under the nem until i paired them i really enjoy clowns in pairs its great to watch

So what exactly are you saying to do, find a clear box and stick the clown inside it in the tank so they look at each other? I don't have an anemone and I don't plan on ever buying another one. Biggest waste of money I had lol. Ran to the back of the tank for weeks then died.

dont need a anemone they will host lots of different stuff you know the containers they use at the lfs when you buy fish that hang on the tank drill some holes in one and hang it on the side of the tank put the new clown in there for a day or two until you notice the agression die down then introduce them in the main tank if the clown you have starts tearing it apart i dont think it will buy you never know take your old clown put it in the container and let it out after it calms down like the next day this method seems to work its really sweet when you get your pair

Maybe I will keep one. I don't want to buy the extra stuff I don't need. I would get a new pair but the clown I have is so nice :D What about this though. The clown is in a 46 gallon now so if I transfered 2 at the same time to a 90 would they get along or still fight?

Well a female still has to establish dominance over the male so no matter what you do they are going to squable. This suggestions and advice is good if you want to reduce the aggression you'll see at first. It's about the only sure fire way. You never know you may get lucky and no fighting but then again you may get unlucky and... well back to one.

ok if you put them in a 90 galllon at the same time they would h ave plenty of room to establish dominance that would be great i dont thing there is any reason to be afraid to try pairing the specimin container cost me 6 dollars and i use it as a cheato fuge and a place to put things that need refuge for under 2 inches of clownfish 90 gallon with a couple rock piles would be perfect for pairing a couple clowns
