Who keeps goby/pistol pairs in their reef?

I had a high fin goby pair with a some kind of pistol in my dsb. Obviously it messed up the dsb in that area - it was a trade off and it was limited to a single area in a 100g - I wouldn't have done it in a smaller dsb. What was annoying was that the shrimp was always throwing sand on the front of the tank as their burrow was close to the front.

That shrimp never stopped working -- always, always busy with his engineering project. I target fed them every day.

Never had any problems with aggression in the year or so that I had them in that tank. The only other fish I had that liked hidey holes were the blackcap basslets and I don't think they'd be intimidated by a shrimp. The rs mimic blennies stayed up higher in the tank,

Sounds like you wouldn't want them in with jawfish?

I recommend against them. I enjoyed mine for a while, but the tiger grew, finally killed the Yellow Watchman; had killed two firefish who happened into the burrow (they sleep in holes) and had become such a pita I took my reef apart to get him out and back to the lfs.

This was my main fear, thanks. I'm afraid my wrasses would eat a smaller species of pistol, so I'll just hold off on the shrimp and get the goby. It's not worth risking my firefish.
