I gotcha. I thought you might be doing a wreck biotope. Like maybe a part of one of the ship's the US keeps sinking down in Florida to make artificial reefs. Might be a cool idea.

See, that wasn't that hard, was it Nate? Who the hell is out there and what the hell do you look like. You guys can tell the difference between a coral that has been growing under 10K versus 14k versus 20k but you can't post a simple pic or two.

I know it's way off topic here cause it isn't a freaking selling or buying thread and that seems to be what this forum has turned into. Over 400 views and only 4 or 5 people and gotten involved. Step up to the plate guys and gals. Stepping of soap box so you guys can post some stupid pics.

All is good buddy, hope all is going good on your end of the world. It looks like we will be moving to the Balt/DC area in a few months. Should find out for sure tomorrow.
 
Hey now. I haven't ... ever ... posted a buying or selling thread, I think. I did post one where I wanted to trade frags once, though. Does that count against me?

Selling threads have always been here but it's seems that they have taken over and a lot of the old timers have moved on, I'm sure I will be joining them soon. Most likely to the delight of a few ;) Damn soap box got in the way again.
 
Over 50% of the threads here are some type of buying or selling post. It would be nice if they were on the local board under the actual buying and selling section.
 
But then what would we talk about?

I have to agree with you, though. I do wish we could migrate everyone over to the local boards. I would still come here for variety and to do research, but these aren't my favorite boards anymore.

What are the other 50%? Soccer sucks, how are the Bronco's going to do this season, etc... That isn't exactly reef related, is it? I like the buying and selling posts. I have received many frags and have met some nice people along the way. It beats paying 10 times more at a LFS. If people would like to chat sports, ESPN has message boards for that. I know other people must feel the same way. I don't want to start a fight, but you have to see the other side of it as well.
 
I agree Hawk, I got a ton of my stuff that way, you really can't beat it. I only use this board to keep up with the friends I met will I was an active member of the RMRC. Most of it is via PM's but I do post my OT and sometimes way OT stuff. In the past, it seemed most where good with it, However, this is a new group of guys on the board and I could have easily outstayed my welcome. This board seems to have gone a different direction and there seems to be some division among the Denver folks which is unfortunate.

I know some of the folks want the local forum to become more active and since he has setup a buying and selling section, moving all of it there would be a very good way to get it the traffic. That's all I was trying to say, I don't think it should go away but maybe just go someplace else like the local forum. There is also a good chance that my stupid post should also go to the local forum under the lounge section.

Don't worry about a fight here, just a friendly debate from somebody 3500 miles away that has the perception that the club he enjoyed being of is dying. Maybe the club is going good, I have been pretty busy this summer so I haven't kept up. Anyways, that all I got. Maybe I should just PM the friends I have met over the years and get email addy's from them and move on myself. I didn't want that last part to sound a whinny as it did, just kinda thinking aloud.

Again, it's all good hawk.

Don't get me wrong, I like the buying and selling posts. They get me in trouble, but I always have to look. But, there is a serious concentration of reef-related knowledge in this club. Don't believe me? Post a husbandry question here and in one of the special-interest forums on RC. I will guarantee that you will get more, better, and quicker answers in this forum.

But, I haven't seen a lot of husbandry-related discussion lately. Some, yes. But the lack has been bumming me out and I get the sense that's what misfit is talking about, too.
 
Nope, she would sleep up there. She hasn't done it in a while. She didn't get up until we started taken a lot of pictures. If you look at the properties of the pics, you will notice the sequence of them. Plus Brandi would kill me if I did that to her. ;)

Freakin' cats. The one on my lap in the photo (we have seven, sigh) climbs the outside of the kitchen cabinets. She starts on the counter, climbs up the closed door of a cabinet, and hangs out on top. Really good for the door....
