And how can you afford it?
Mine is a 40 gallon "Aquasystem" made by TruVu. It was a customer's that got all scratched to hell. Real simple, it has a drip tray and wet/dry built into the back. I do it a little bit weird, because I use it to QT fish and inverts. I keep it at full strength salinity with a bit of live rock. If I should happen to run into fish disease problems, the live rock gets transferred to another bin and then I can medicate. I keep a few button polyps and mushrooms in there just to make sure some fish aren't going to nibble at them before putting them in a display. It sits on the ground in my bedroom beneath a south facing window, and sunlight is enough light for what's in there.
I use plastic light grating to separate fish if need be, and I have a 45 g Rubbermaid BRUTE garbage can for water changes. I typically do a 90% water change before I know any fish are coming in, and then do 40% or so weekly water changes while the QT process is happening. Oh yeah, I just use dechlorinated tapwater too.

That's a REALLY bad excuse for not having a QT if you're being serious.
Home Depot sells 45 g BRUTE garbage cans for $40. Heater, $25. Decent HOB Power filter, $40. Some pieces of flowerpot or PVC piping for fish to hide in, $5. That's all you need to make a QT tank. And once you're done stocking your tank you can use this stuff to do water changes.

Good point. I actually have a setup almost exactly like that which I intended to mix SW.

MY QT is an old scratched up 2.5 gallon. I set it up only when I have something to QT.
I put in a water pump for circulation (and heat) and sometimes I attach an air pump to an airstone - depending on what I an QTing. I have a sheet of eggcrate which fits half way between the top & bottom of the tank. I place some live rock from my sump in the bottom with the pump & put the coral on top of the eggcrate. And a PC light. I do 50% water change every day or 2 - which is a gallon of water. The tank fits on the counter in my kitchen, so I can closely watch what I am QTing.
It works great for me. If I ever needed to QT something bigger, :eek2: I also have an 8 gallon that I could use.

My QT is 40 gallons with a Biowheel and PC lighting. I'm too lazy to take it down and put it up, so it stays up. I also use it as a frag tank. It has some live rock, Xenia, some softies,snails and 2 urchins.
I QT everything, including inverts for at least 4 weeks. That might sound crazy, but I bought carniverous snails once due mislabled livestock. I only lost the animals that were in QT with them.
If I have an ill animal I set up a 10 gallon hospital tank for treatment. I've only had to do this once in 5 years, so it isn't much of a hassle.

I got the OK from my wife and I am going to set up a new tank today. I was thinking a 20 gallon Breeder or something of the such. No sand, even though I have 25 lbs of sand that I just took out of my main display. A biowheel, a heater and a thermometer. I want to find a small T-5 lighting set up. If not, PC's will do.

I've never used one, but am quickly coming to the realization that maybe i should. And i have the perfect 10 gallon candidate for it. runs to garage to begin work.
