I would think organics would have less of an affinity for the air water interface after ozone addtion.Adding o atoms to carbon chains makes them more soluble in water. You actually adding either doubled bonded oxygen(ketone or aldehyde,which form semi-ketones and acid-aldhydes) or hydroxyl groups. What is probably happening is the organics are oxidized to co2 and water. The smaller carbon chain compounds. But i don't see why carbon wouldn't remove these compounds.
