Reefnest will be having a workshop on how to drill a tank and looking for somebody who can bring a tank and we can show everybody how to drill it. Any tank from 20 gal to 30 gal will be great.

I have a brand new glass 270 gallon if that will do. I don't know if it's tempered or not.

I forgot to say that we need one tank so we don't have to bring to the meeting and back with us. One hole too. I'm not sure how can you get that tank there or if that will be a problem.

Hey zooqi,
This was just posted in the C-SEA forums. Drilling tank thread

I don't have the correct holesaw for his application.

Did you (REEFNEST) ever make plans to get with my brother (the science teacher) about his reef setup while you are in town?

See you guys at the swap.

Thurge... I could drill it for you if you are using 1" bulkheads because that is the only size of diamond holesaw I own.

I think i would want to go a little larger. 1" would bo OK for a return but for the drain I would want a little bigger hole.

Dang it, too far for me. Can a glass tank with/out tempered glass be drilled?

It hast to be non tempered glass. Drilling tempered glass is asking to destroy the piece.

Thurge, What size bulk head are you planning on using. I have a 75 I just drilled the back out for a CL and used the redundant method by installing two smaller drained instead of one larger one. I have a 2 3/8" bit we used and it fits allot of sch 80 1 1/4" bulk heads.

I was thinking about going with 1.5" which according to Marinedepot uses a 2 3/8 hole. :)

After doing some thinking about the set up I have more holes than just the one you were thinking about for the demonstration. If someone has a smaller project speak up. If not I can still bring it but I want to turn the back into swiss cheese, for a reef. Double drains, 4 returns...
