My x150 broke within 1 month and I was only trying to run it at around 40%. When I complained they said you need to it run at 60% or higher for break-in period....wat? I sent it back...

A month later here I am getting an x130, and it's amazing so far (2days). I only run it at 50%, can't hear it, and it's a great supplement for my mp40s.

Can you be more specific? I haven't heard anything about it.

I ran mine at 40%. I broke it in at 60% for 2 weeks. Well, the motor stopped working last week. Currently talking with Maxspect for replacement motors.

I also have a Mp10 on the other side to create a more random flow. With pulse mode, my torch and duncan only flow in one direction. I think they prefer random flows more

Sure hope it makes a significant improvement! Noise has been the main reason I've avoided these in the past.

Well they're already redesigned the mount to try and quite it. The new mount ships now and there will be a replacement program for Beta Testers, oops, I meant early adopters :hammer:

They are shipping 150's with the new mount? Or just the 130s?

I think all first time production runs have bugs to be worked out....including ecotech. Obviously Ecotech thinks their product can be improved as well. I think there are many many happy campers out there with the gyre. I, like Cody, received mine this week and installing over the weekend. I'm excited to get it

There are bound to be issues with new products. Ecotech had some bad apples as well when they started rolling out new pumps as well. Sucks you had a problem though. So far my 130 is doing a good job.

Well they have had the technology for two years now so I would assume they have there ducks in a row. Eecotech wouldn't bring a questionable product to the market like maxspect did

True they don't out questionable products but I have had 2 mp10s and a mp40 make so much noise after 2 years moderate use. I would consider that a big issue for their price point yet they still released the pumps and kept making them for years without improving it until now.

If you're going to make blanket statements like this, My question is do you have your ducks in a row to back it up? What evidence can you share with us on not only Ecotech R n D and also Maxspects R n D? What makes you call the gyre "questionable"? There are many very well respected hobbyists and vendors who are singing the gyres praises.

+1 Totally agree, but that seems to be ecotechs M.O. sell for top dollar, allow the consumer to product test and then come out with something better and charge twice as much..... Their price has to match the product..

well after going through ticket support (very fast support system), Maxspect is shipping me a new controller for free.

hopefully that will solve the problem for good. Good to know that they provide full support

Any idea when these will be released? I wonder if $299 will be the price point. I have been dying to buy a pair of mp40's but absolutely hate the old style. I almost bought a pair of mp60's but decided to wait for the new 40's. I want it bad!!!

Less moving parts, less things to break. Although some people replace the bearings with high quality ones and the pumps essentially become quiet. Ecotech took a good product and made it better, but it's still the same pump in the end. Just like their lights, add a few more LEDs and viola a whole new product to charge large sums of money. Not bashing eco tech, they have an excellent product line, it's just the new stuff hasn't wowed me yet

It will most likely produce more flow than their last model, so it shouldn't just be less noise and done. At least that's what I am hoping for or else there really isn't a good reason to upgrade from regular mp40's.
