I ordered him lastnight!! My GF wanted him so bad so we will dedicate him to my 55g that I set up for QT. It says the max size for this guy is 4.5", his purchase size is 4.5"......I wonder if this is correct? I googled the name and the pictures of him look so different. Cant wait to get him, the color is fantastic.....

We were definitely tempted...positive ID will be checking its "flash" colors, and if you can get a peek inside its mouth, there's a narrow triangular, black marking behind its upper teeth. This fish appears very similar to Scorpaena diabolus, but only grows to about half that size.

Finally acclimated him, I will give him some time to adjust to get better pics, hoping my friend can come over and take real pictures.... his head is fat lol.

Thanks, so far he is doing ok......he moved around inside the tank for a bit and faced the front of the tank as if he likes to watch what's going on. I will be getting some ghost shrimp later to see if he eats anything.

i have learned not to buy impule. just ot wait to find EXACTLY what you want so you are happy with your tank.
the one you have looks great. 2 weeks ago i ordered my first fish off the internet from DD and was very please at how fast and easy it was. the Fu i got from them is awsome so far

I agree on the impulse buy.......This scorp I never seen before and because they had it growing to a max 4.5" I figured the 55g was great for him. I did some research while it was listed on DD, I thought it would be sold once natebedwell06 started this thread so my heart started pumping lol. While ordering it I kept thinking that it would be sold as I was making the payment but I was lucky!
......It's funny, I was browsing the threads here and noticed this thread and when i clicked it I was like HOly Moly I was just checking the updated emails from DD!DoubleM 10

yeah their is something about scorps that even though they do not move as much i find them facinating to keep them around.
once my Fu is done with qt then i want to find another odd scorp to complete the tank. my 46 bow will be my personal oddball tank and my 55 will be for show.
i have tried puffers, hawks, blennies, and the like and im never as happy with them as i am with scorps lol
