I can never get this crap to grow/green up very well

so I want to know, who has had success and what light/flow conditions did you have it in

I have seriously seen every combination of light/flow recommended all over the internet, so I am looking for those who have actually done it

since I have two tanks I can provide it anything that it needs ranging from low flow/light to high flow/light

do you mean GSP! because GPS just needs a clear view to the sky and it's gonna pick up signal... no flow or light needed

I got a small patch of GSP about two months back and put it on that shell you saw and it is a big shell and it has almost completely covered it in couple of months. It has pretty high light and pretty low flow in that spot.

The stuff grows like a weed, if you need some I have a bunch you can have also have some psp. I have mine under 250 watt M.H. with 12k pc's on this tank and in a 1o gal. tank its under 96 watts of pc's no skimmer just a HOT filter, no water changes on this tank in several months and the bulbs are 2 years old.

I have a large rock covered with it, but ive had it for a year and it hasn't grown at all....its alive, but it never grows and its dull green instead of bright nice green

so I'll move it over to the high light tank and see what happens over there

Would you consider this success? :)

65 gal reef with 2- 175w MH running 10k reeflux supplemented with 2- 36" VHO superactinics.

2- SEIO 820's for flow.

I did practically tear the tank apart to get rid of this stuff.

How about a 3 ft x 8 inch spread? This was started from a quarter size frag. I have had this same coral grow in 3 different tanks, starting under pcs, then 250 w halides, and now it is under 400 w 14ks. For flow I have 3 vortechs about 2.5 ft from it on full flow. You can have some if you want.

When I changed from 14K to 10K my super green stuff turned kinda yellow/green/brown. It's not that the stuff was dead but the light made it look really bad.

Acrinics will make it super green and low flow and a nice clean rock will make it spread.

Another thing I noticed is that it will not grow onto plugs ( at least the ones I had). I wanted to have it grow on a plug but without sucess... It grew all around but not on the plug. WEIRD?

Nice to see you back!!!

I have a ton of it as well. I would say I have moderate light and low flow.
and dirty water. :)
my gsp and xenia grow like weeds

thanks dude, Im gonna move the rock into my high light tank in an area of low flow (I have a few dead spots)

I used to have a beautiful rock covered in GSP, however it is dying away. I noticed it around the time I started dosing 2 Part. Probably a coincidence, but it is the only coral not currently thriving.

Ahh Yee 'ol GSP, I had 3 diffrent color's of it. Bright neon green (I think thats what I gave breutus) a rather dull color green?? Dunno why it's under the same lighting just stay's a dull green & I have some of the pink color that D.french gave me although it's more like BLAAA now??

On the back overflow, I'm trying to make this take over the entire over flow, I got this bright green from Jack before he moved. The peice was about 2x2 inches I scraped of of his back glass.

On the left side of the overflow is the pink that D.french gave me which was PINK when I got it and then turned more of a brown, down by the baby-food jar is the duller green colored rock of GSP.

I'm hoping that the bright green will take over the pink and one day be a carpet completely covering the overflow.

Mine is thriving under PCs... top third of the tank on an fairly isolated rock. Over the last 3 months it has grown these 2" towers vertically... Mine has a hydor Koralia #1 blowing directly on it from about 6 inches away... Looks like a wheatfield on a windy day. Despite all the other corals and clam in my tank, everyone loves the GSP.

You realize that there are two different varietys right? One is very Very green and bushy. The other is mostly pink with a green head but not as green and not as bushy as the other.
