Why are snails so sluggish

My snails are don't seem to be very active. Also, my margarita snails hang out at the top. Any suggestions on what might cause them to behave this way? I added them to the tank two weeks ago, and the tank has been running for over two months. I do 25% water changes once a week. I treat parameters before water changes. I test for nitrates, nitrites, ammonia, pH, salinity, calcium, and magnesium. All test on the correct range, and the temperature is always between 78-80F.

Snails are snails.. my turbo snails seem pretty active though. They park in one spot for 10+ hours then bulldoze the tank for a couple hours. Lol. Nassarius snails will rise from the dead out of the sand and cruise around for a bit when feeding the tank.. Other than that they just like to chill. I wouldn't worry about it.

My biggest concern is that they were hanging out at the top. I even found one on the outside of the tank glass. I have never had them do that in my other tanks.

Most of mine will climb the glass and hang out at the water line. I've even found them climbing the intake tube of my Aquaclear, on the sponge on the outlet of my HOB skimmer, climbing electrical cords and hanging out on my power-heads. It seems they are very hard to train to do what you want them to. :) My Nassarius are the only ones that move quickly around the tank.

If you want an entertaining snail, look into moon snails. I had one for a week that moved quickly and climbed the glass a lot. The other snails and hermits weren't fans of it as it would just glide right over them leaving them covered with snail snot. Probably not the best snail for a tank but certainly more entertaining than the rest.
