Take a look at the pic of the RC mascot Sohal tang in the upper left corner - it's the orange spot. Wouldn't want to be on the business end.

Here's my dussumieri's scalpel.

I have a cool shot of a unicorn tang in Hawaii with it's scalpels out (this type of tang has TWO scalpels per side but are one of the most peaceful tangs which is weird) and it's from the top down, but now I cant find it...

I had an Achilles that was not afraid to use his "blade", I've never seen my Sohal slash at anything other than my Coralife glove when I'm in the tank!

There is nothing peaceful about Tangs. The may look mellow but, for instance, I have an 8.5in desjardini and if I'm in the tank for too long he will start by pulling out the hairs on my arms followed by some intense tailwhipping to tell me it's time to go.

I was sliced by the scalpel on my atlantic doctorfish when I was removing him from the tank..about two inch long lash...bled pretty good ..

They are called that again, because of their sharp spines.

From the dictionary definition for tang: the pointed end of a tool, such as a chisel, file, knife, etc, which is fitted into a handle, shaft, or stock
