Why does my MP40W keep loosing power?

I have two MP40Ws and one keeps loosing power. I've had these for three years and this problem just started occurring about two months ago.

Specifically, I notice the propeller isn't turning so I inspect the control box and notice all the lights are off. I unplug the dc power supply from the control box, plug it back in, and everything runs perfectly. This situation occurs about once every three weeks w/the same MP40W.

What is wrong? Thanks.

The pump was off again today. No lights... nothing! I unplugged it and then plugged it back in and walaa, it is working again. Any suggestions from Ecotech would be greatly appreciated.

you probably need to overhaul the prop and get one of those rebuild kits they sell to re-do the wet side could be that it is causing resistance and heating up the dry side and maybe shutting down seems the controller really doesn't get much wear or tear but the dry side does again just shooting in the dark here..good luck let me know what it is when you fix it via pm..would you know how to play with the eco settings like sleep mode setting the time and the feeding cycle making it go from 10min to 20min.

It sounds like there is some sort of issue with the power supply and/or controller. Is the green LED light always lit on the power supply? Is it possible that your components came into contact with moisture/water?

Yes, the green light on the power supply is always on. No, the controller is well away from any water.

I was mistaken about all the lights being out though. I didn't notice when my aquarium lights were on but the control box is actually displaying a continuous whitish looking color at the bottom of the vertical LED display band during this condition. It is only visible when the room is dark but the controller is displaying something. What code is represented by a white LED pattern on the controller? Thanks.

I'm tagging along on this as I am having the same problem. The only thing I see different is that mine will stop and flash red on the controller then restart sometimes and other times just stop with no light on the controller at all forcing me to unplug and replug it in. These are mp40w gen2 and the one in slave mode is failing, the controllers are right next to each other. The wet sides are aligned properly.

I'm having the same problem but it's MP10wES instead of MP40wES.

I have 2 MP10wES and did the power adapter swapped but problem still unsolved so will tag along too...!

If your VorTech is not powering on after verifying the light on the power supply is lit green, your controller most likely needs to be sent in for service.
