why does my tank have so many floating particles

i have a 140 gallon reef tank not many corals about 60 pounds of live rock that's been curing under a metal halite for 6 years and a 4 inch sand bed but my tank has tuns of floating particles ive tried the drops water changes and then i see theses other tanks and they're Crystal clear is it all the corals that keep the water clean its driving me crazy :debi:

Do you have filter socks in the sump

I have this problem sometimes....cause two pain in the rear clown fish....mine stir the sand and everything else for the fun of it.... I installed a filer sock and it helped a lot.

Unless you are overfeeding it is likely a fish stirring your sand. Filter socks work great for clearing the water.

thanks a lot guys ill have to try that i do have to sand dwellers they're 2 baby flying gurnards
