Why I can not color up my SPS?

Dear All,

After i stabilizes my water parameters and able to have a good peristaltic pump to maintain a stable effluent flow of my calcium reactor , I believed my water parameters should not be an issue for my SPS.

My SPS have live and survive and this is the sign that I am at least expecting for me to keep move on.

Now , my questions is how can I color up my SPS? Or is it because the color appear in the SPS I have now in my Tank is their normal color?

Another questions , I have one SPS that I think is browning and it has been like that for so many months now , looks ugly but it survive at least no more STNed or RTNed , but I wonder what technics should I do to let it back to its normal color if not excellent colors?

do you know what your p04 and n03 is? Weird you feeding your corals with bio-pellets and fish pee/poo. wondering if you have to much light?

What are your parameters? Phosphate, nitrate, calcium, alkalinity, and magnesium? Also you should probably switch the Chinese t5 bulbs to ATI brand bulbs.

Thanks all for your advises and feedback

My last checking on ;

No3 : <0.2
Po4: 0.06
KH : 8.60
Ca : 415
My : 1335
Sp gr : 1.026

Yes, I planned to change my chinese T5 to ATI , may be coral + , blue + and or purple + as some one advise me on my other post concern this issue.

By the way , my lighting :

Kessil from 9:30 am to 9:30 pm
Intensity reach 70% and colors 72% from 12 noon to 2 pm

T5: on 10:00 am till 9:00 pm

I don't know what happened , the system seems to not showing my post on No3 ,

Anyway no3 is less than 0.2 ppm

11 hours of t5 sounds like alot. I have a hybrid Ati and only run my bulbs 6 hours. Rest of the time Led.

Try color element from fauna marine, they have 3 bottle 1 for each color. I dose it and after a few weeks the color of my coral improve

Thanks YC?

I will check this fauna marine color elements .

But I wish to find out the reason behind or any other area in miss and in a more natural way than using some color enhancement formulation stuff.

I have seen that water parameters should not be an issue as I am now even have a daily 1% auto water change.

I am also trying to adjust the duration of my T5 lights on, as advise herewith earlier .

Other than lights , any other thing that I may be missing too?

Cheers,

Get some AT pblue plus of coral+ bulbs, cut back the phoroperiod to around 9 hours... The other issue you're facing is that a lot of those are maricultured colonies, which can be finicky even when everything is "right".

Also, I'd skip the fauna marine and any of the other "color enhancing" supplements on the market, you don't need them to have amazing colors.

Thanks Peter , yes I am planning to buy some ATI bulb to replace these cheap Chinese bulbs and will cut back the photoperiod to as you suggest 9 hours .

Here in my country they forbid to sell something wild corals ( based on my knowledge at least ) so I hope that I can at least make a much color corals colonies in my tank inspite of the huge investment I did so far on the hardware portion of my system .

Yes , in as much as possible I wish to avoid using so much commercially additives that is why I don't choose KZ system as they use a lot of supplement and not to mentioned too expensive and too much works to do which is contradict to my wishes .

Anymore advises from the rest of my heroes !

Cheers,

MD

Thanks star F,

With the mostly reply here , it seems that lights will be my present focus . Ok , I am still not familiar with ATI t5 bulb , their coral +,actinic , blue + , purple + etc.

So in order for me to hit it right without trial and errors , what ATI bulb should I use to replace my 4 Chinese cheap T5 bulb and hybrid with my 2 Kessil 360we?

I hope to have your advises , thanks !

Cheers,

MD
