Why I can not color up my SPS?

Are your corals pale or brown? If it's the former, the issue is likely limited organics. I corrected that issue by feeding more.

Thanks Peter for your reply and comment !

Further to my questions as I am new with this different T5 bulb, in summary , ATI t5 HO as ;
Blue +
Coral +
True Actinic 03
Purple +
Aquablue special

aside from mostly recommend here are coral + and Blue + , I wonder how about True Actinic and Aqua blue special, can I also added these combination for my T5 4 bulbs with each one of the following ;
Coral + , Blue + , True Actinic , Aquablue special ?

Cheers

Hi Kevin,

Thanks for your reply.
My corals was browning .

Cheers,

MD

Thank you.

I would say, based off of experience, that brown coral are either from too little light, or elevated nutrients. How is the algae in the tank?

Your T-5s, do they have individual reflectors?

What size is your tank?

Thanks again Kevin,

My lights composed of 2 kessil 360WE and 4 chinese cheap T5 bulb (all white). My nutrient is low ; no3 less than 0.2 and Po4 0.06 . I have algae in my 4 corners glass and I have to scrub every other days . My T5 have individual reflectors and my tank size is 90cm x 60cm x 60cm. 420 liters total water volume .

I also run ecobak and feed my corals every other day. I have big fat fish and great sps color. I talked to the WWC coral guys and they are big believers in feeding their systems. So I feed heavy, skim heavy and the ecobak keeps my n's and p's low.

I have an 8 tube ATI T5 fixture with LED strips.

i would just like to point out, that people have experienced browning of corals due to light stress with led light. or light where the spectrum is off.

I would guess its a comination of the light and to little nutrience, i would try and get the no3 up a bit more.. around 2.5-5, that is where my system with led lightning is doing best. Every system is diffrent, but try. You can get some Povls Xtra, or something else to boost nutrience, that would also be worth trying.

Further to my questions as I am new with this different T5 bulb...

You can see a good comparison of the ATI T5 bulbs here and further information here.

If you have that long a light period, don't have an algae problem and your corals don't have good color then they're getting too much light and your tank is low nutrient.

Change the lighting first. If you change too many things at once you won't know what effect each thing you change has.

I think a combination of 2 blue+, is a must since they're such great bulbs spectrum and intensity wise, and then use whiter tubes to achieve the look you want. GE 6500k if you want white, aquablue special if you want a touch of blue, coral blue if you want a bluer look, but not the extreme that all blue+ would be.
