Why is this coming up all the time

Why is this all ways coming up.
You've encountered an error. While the search engine is frequently the cause of the error, it may not have been your 'click' that caused the error. Ordinarily this error is caused by our search engine because the term entered caused too many results to be returned. If you encoutered this error while searching, you can try doing the search again and changing the term, or including more terms to limit the number of results. Words like "skimmer" or "sand" all by themselves are present in too many posts to make them useful as search terms.

RC must be really bogged down and I'm guessing they don't have enough money to buy the equipment needed keep up with all the members, its almost always very slow for me at night especially, thats why I am not coughing up the Premium membership fee this time around.

Heck I get that message just trying to open up our forum or a page in our forum every day! Or pages in any other RC forum for that matter.
Just another good reason to get our own forum and since we won't have 50,000 people on it everyday we should be fine.

I have been noticing that a lot lately too. Remember as more and more users start using RC the bandwidth is going up. They upgrade thier servers but it's not enough.

well iv only been on for like a month and it happens at least once every time im on, but i didnt know what happend

^^^This is exactly the reason, the more people on at the same time, the harder the server has keeping up.

it looks like a database connection error. you figure the db can only handle so many thousand connections at one time, so when it's really busy, it's going to throw the error more. It just happened to me a few minutes ago, It actually took 2 minutes before I could access and pages, or threads.

ok so I found out that the issue is with the forum software, and that the staff has upgrades to the BB software planed. Hopefully those will fix the issues.

They can definitly afford more hardware, I have a screenshot of their monthly bandwidth, its not all that much and shouldnt be a problem. My game server has more bandwidth available than RC and it costs about $300 a month (a very good deal).

It is how they have the website managed. Every request has to go through one server even though they have 5 of them, when it gets too many requests it can only answer so many at a time.

Hope it gets fixed at some point.

That's a good theory but it's dead wrong. ;)
