Why is this happening to me :( everything is dying

I don't know what to do anymore. All of my sps are dying and I have no idea why. Everything was going fine until a few weeks ago. I can't think of anything that has changed. Alk - around 9, CA around 480, Mg around 1400, Ph is between 7.8 and 8...low but not fatal. I just don't get it. Most all sps are bleaching at tips....are going brown and a weird green color at base. I just don't understand. I dipped a few peices to see if I had AEFW and nothing. I use ro/di water and do water changes with brightwells neo salt every 2 to 3 weeks. I am about ready to start over with sps.

things i would check

P04 on a hanna
N03
check all your pumps (skimmer pumps included) in case something has rusted
check the TDS of your RO from the source and if you use auto top up check the reservoir.
check lights out with a torch for acro eating snail

HTH

I had a problem kinda like yours and I found the problem to be, that I needed to change my RO/DI water filters. After I changed them, every thing is coming back around. I am sure your problem will be something else, just something I thought about.

r/o into di is around 6-8....out is 0.....N03 is 0 on lamotte, po4 is .02-.05 on hanna. what does an acro eating snail look like?

Def have never seen those. This is so deflating. Do so much work and devote so much time to make your tank look good and then this happens and I hbe no idea what went wrong. A non sps tank sounds pretty
good right about now

I would take a turkey baster to your acros and blast them with water to make sure there aren't any AEFW. The very first picture look kind of like AEFW bites.

also you can have a sps eating nudibranch. they are white and frilly looking

nahhhh imaginary friend for sure.

On the other hand our aussie friend is right on the money with the (Aesopus spiculus) although not prevalent here in the states some friends in asia and indo have seen them eating acros. Soon enuff it will make its way here.

Not likely what you are seeing since this critters are predominantly on acros of the deepwater/smooth skin.

HTH

there's something else going on perhaps a couple of water changes will stop that ugly scenario/ w/o knowing much more of your tank its hard to diagnose.

+1 everytime I turn around there some post about another acro eater!

gotta love ignorance........these have been found in 1/2 a dozen or so tanks (3 were TOTM) in oz in the past few months and guess what you guys import our coral so good chance they are over there or will be soon.

here is a pic of some damage caused to a staghorn form the Aesopus spiculus which is contrary to the glassbox design stating they only eat "deep water" acro
staghorn

even glass box have documented it....but i guess you know better

the only good thing about these is they are not to hard to get rid of once found, but has to be done after lights out.

This looks similar to the issue I've had recently. Have you changed you DI resin lately. I think I had a bad batch that leached into my system water.

I remember reading a thread a while back about some sort of bacterial infection and it was turning things green. Dont know if this is the case but maybe something to look at

+1 For Scotts advice. Pic number 1 looks like AEFW bite marks at the base of the acro. Ive never seen the Acro eating nudi branch or snail before. lol
