81F isnt bad at all. My living room is 80F year round. My tank gets hotter than that, so I have a temp controller to keep tank around 79-82F.
You need to post full parameter details and maybe a few good quality photos of the corals. Describing the coral health is too subjective, so photos will provide some good indication for us.
At the end of the day, SPS are slow at growing or at least growth is not very noticeable when they are tiny frags. But if you keep taking photos every month, you should notice growth...unless there is a pest issue or some other big issue with the system.
Im not trying to "go against everyone else here" but I used to run my tank at 81-81.5 and brought it down to 76.5-77 slowly and saw almost instant better coloring (within a week or two) and better growth over the last 2 months.
81F is not a problem at all for growth. The oversimplification is that cooler water (77) yields better colors and warmer water (81) yields better growth. You may have a test kit that is reading improperly and some of your chems are out of whack. Just a thought.
