Why Open Brain Reseeding from Skeleton?

I was hoping someone can help me with why my open brains are starting to reseed from their skeleton on the bottom portion. I have had my brain for over a year. Do they seem to die after this time?

My water perameters
Sal - 1.023
Cal - 450
Nitrate 15ppm
Nitrite 0
Ammonia 0
Phons .03
PH 8.0
ALK 9.5

Running Chiller temp 75-78

Tank mature over a year old

Running MH 150W 8hrs a day

open brains placed on the sand

Water changes once a week 5-7 gallons

Running a Skimmer

they dont die like that........
think REAL hard about anything you have changed within the last 2 weeks...
REAL HARD.......
anything near it? any new corals? new bulb, new light? watch the temp swings throughout the day, it may be jumping, maybe you have added so many corals it isnt getting enough food, do you feed it, is it extending its tentecles?
and so on and on......
