Your not the only one.. My moms clown has been re named Cujo... I figured out if I put the net in the tank, she swims and hides from it allowing me to clean and do what I need to do with out getting bit.
Ours never had a mate, shes a solo clown fish. The one in my friends tank is a bit B**chy too, she tail twaps us, and sometimes bothers new inhabitants, but calms down after a bit.
I have one that is the same way. I used to use a net to stop her but now she just goes around it and keeps at it, Most likely you are in what she as determined to be her section of the tank and is defending her spot, I added a male to mine and she has settled down a lot from what she used to do.
Mine would do that. I still think it was a teritoral thing, Either that or she was hungry. I did notice that mine was usually going for the air bubbles on my arm hair so it may have thought there was food there. I do know one thing its not a nice feeling when one bites
I've had clown fish attack me while diving, I have some awesome video of them attacking my mask from last year. Try putting a little food in your hand, maybe ground up shrimp.
My smaller clown would come up to my hand and wiggle between my fingers and rub on my palm @.@ then the next day he learned to do the same in my GBTA, I didnt know if he was body slaming my hand or trying to make me his new home. Now only if the bigger of the two would also make the nem home : (
