Why should I switch from Apex to GHL

I currently have an Apex controller. I am considering switching to a GHL, but I haven't been able to find a compelling reason.

I keep getting responses like, "the GHL gives you more control" (the apex let's me controll down to hours minutes and seconds, what more can there be), "the GHL let's you control things like float switches" (so does the Apex), The GHL uses better components (might be true, but that's just a vague statement).

From what I see: It looks like the GHL is easier to program.

I'm hoping to find someone who has made this switch, to tell me why they like the GHL better.

If you have an Apex and can't seem to find the reason to switch to GHL then why searching so hard for a reason to?

All depends on what you want to do and acheive.

I am not going to get into the debate of mine is better than yours, never constructive, so lets look at what GHL will give you.

GHL has a renowned global reputation for reliability and quality this is why huge estabilshments and tank maintenance companies rely on them, so if you are looking for a controller that you dont have to worry about or check into every day that something may have gone wrong then the GHL would be a wise choice.

Components - GHL only use where at all possible German highly reliable components, when was the last time you saw a thread about a faulty GHL?

Client repairable - if you break it you can repair it, everything is client repair replaceable. We do not charge mark up for spares either.

Bugs - GHL have two levels of firmware and software, beta and released, I notice you mention GHL has bugs on another thread, if you look deeper they are referring to Beta components still in pre release although available to the public at their own choosing to help find anything amiss, it is up to you if you wish to try it or wait for full release.

Accessories - This is one area GHL will beat any controller, GHL have a mass of accessories dedicated to the product specifically so you are not having to lash up some third party peripheral that may prove to be the straw that broke the camels back. It also gives GHL the ability to add extra functionality just as with the dosers (ML dosing not just timed)

All comes down to what you are looking for.

GHLs strong points

Bullet proof reliability including probes
Mass of accessories
continual development
Controller for life (GHL users dont move on generally)

I would say that GHL does not have many or any complaints about different parts going out. At least two companies have great customer service, great resell value. I have bought some expensive German equipment and I would say Customer Service is absolutely imperative and has a forum where you can answer questions and not be ignored.

I've always been impressed (sometimes shocked) at the quality of their components. More often than not the components are LAB Grade when our tanks can get away with less precision but GHL doesn't believe in "Settling" on quality.
