Why so much algae on glass???

I'm pretty wary about using the BRS GFO lately, every time I've changed it, I've seen detrimental effects on my SPS, I'm only filling up one canister 50-60% full and I run it on a 180G, with around 220-240 total volume.

The questions are based on changes just made recent..

Do you mix your own salt or buy mixed salt already?

Did this start to happen after the change of bulbs?

How long has the high capacity GFO been in there?

I run phosban and every time it needs changing I see the algae come back. Never used BRS GFO, but plan to. Do you check for phosphate? You should. I'd stay away from products that instantly get rid of phosphates, Brightwell phosphate E. They work, but my nems and SPS don't like it.

Have you been feeding more lately? Have something unaccounted for? Redid your flow or rocks and now have a dead spot?

Its been about two months after the new bulbs, so I dont think that was it. I mix my own salt. I use reef crystals, mix it for two days with power head and heater. I use RODI. Measured TDS and it is at 10ppm. I ordered new filters and should be in tomorrow. I have a feeling it may be TDS, but I am sick of guessing.

10 is high for DI and signify need for at least a change in the resin, but shouldn't result in an algae bloom like that in my experience.
