I kept LPS for years. SPS are a constantly changing landscape of shape, color and texture, as close as you can get to a year round garden in a glass box. LPS are awesome too, but what you set up in the beginning does not change much unless you physically move them around. Personally, I prefer a SPS dominant mixed reef. There are some pretty awesome chalices and acans I'd hate to miss out on, that get along perfectly fine with SPS and happily fill in the darker spots SPS wouldn't thrive.
