Why wont my mantis kill anything?

ive had my mantis in his tank for about 2-3 weeks now. hes doing pretty well, has been building himself a nice burrow. i bought him 3 snails to eat because he hasnt been taking too well to the frozen food. he hasnt killed any of them. i dont want him to starve, what can i get him that he will eat? hes a pretty small mantis shrimp though, maybe only an inch or so.

For a guy that small, I would suggest very tiny hermit crabs (left hand hermits or whatever)

He is too small for anything with real thick shells, why dont you try small shrimp, brine or other small crustaceans?

try krill, you might be able to hand feed him this.

or try buying a few ghost shrimp. they are freshwater but they live for a couple of days in saltwater.

Well for kicks you could throw a couple of Nassarius snails in there, just to see if he goes for them. If not, you got yourself the start of a cleanup crew (which will probably be eaten when the mantis grows).

My little wennerae really likes small gastropods the best.
