Wicked busy?????

Is it me? or is anyone else experiencing the periodic problems with this site. It seems like a few times a year, the site is un-usable for about a week or two at a time. I get a message indicating "30 minute maintenance" or "wicked busy try again" for hours at a time.

it seems like this happens every year around the same time.

You'll see the site speed up in the springtime and summer- the best time to look for used equipment bargains

I agree with Justin as he has a very valid point. That said it does seem slower than I remember it in the past.

In general: Servers get slower when there are more people on. We are uploading larger pictures, higher resolution, and more of them. 'Tis the season for the hobby so people are flocking to RC. Summer time people go back outside and the forums thin out and not many people go on so they clear up the bandwidth and things are much faster. Though you would hope with the amount that the sponsors/advertisers pay, RC is planning to get better/larger/faster servers. I'm sure RC has something up their sleeves to surprise us with soon enough.

IME-I don't have issues too often, just late at night around 11pm-1am is when I run into most issues.

As Gary said- the more people online, the slower it becomes. The admin dept. is well aware of the issue and to my knowledge they're working on a fix as we speak.

To those complaining; nobody is holding you hostage, there are tons of forums. This site holds over 250,000 members, so naturally one can understand why it may be slow at times.
