Wicked magnets to hold streams?

I think I might have seen something on this before but I can't remember. Could you use some of those wicked neodymium magnets to hold the stream pumps to the glass. Would it affect the magnetic field of the pumps?

It doesn't affect the pumps. We were working along these lines but it has been delayed by some bad results. In our tests if you nudged the magnet the pump would spin around and maybe aimed at the sand or somewhere you didn't want it to be. We then pursued a magnet with a suction cup to add stability and the holder was a monstrosity. It can be done but it requires two big magnets we were trying for something not much bigger than a suction cup. An algae magnet at least one size over what you need to clean algae and suitably sealed- don't use a cheap one that will not be absolutely impervious to water.
