Wierd Yellow Tang Experiance

For lack of a better term... when my fish have had "indigestion" it has been related to feeding. Have you been feeding your new tang a decent size chunk of Nori every day?

i soak my nori in the garlic extract you can p/u at CF (and probably every other place) and Sally is a very happy camper.

it came out the back end for sure, ive been placing nori in the tank and someday i wake up and its gone some its not, it like picking at my rocks and such also. also my nori says it already has garlic added to it.

All tangs will pick at your rocks. That's a normal habit of theirs. They have a tough beak like mouth that can handle the roughness of rocks.

ask the right question and poof the mystery somewhat solved. does anyone know why yellow tangs do that, is that a spawning thing for males? eh anyhow doesnt sound serious enough to get too worried about. mine must be female i havent seen that yet.

Lol
"my yellow looks like its got smoke blowing out its butt sometimes"

I had to look up and make sure I was on the right web page.... :spin3:

its really cool when my clam does it it looks like he is really smoking I tried tog et him to quit saying just go cold turkey but he still does it

Sorry im a no BS type of person. Outspoken at times. Theres always one in a club and thats me for sure. I just dont want anyone who is just getting started out think that it is at all possible to properly cycle a tank, which is way too small for any tang, in the time you have specified. Good luck and may your luck be better then mine.

As for my method i used i think i will keep it to myself as i dont need mreye23 and jdoenumber2 on my case anymore than they already are.

most of Jeff's stuff is worth quoting...just sayin'....especially first thing in the morning....ask my computer screen.

Spyder, you shouldn't get upset because people are being honest with you. Obviously adding a Yellow Tang into a tank that hasn't cycled (if that's the case) is likely to have issues. I'm not getting on your case by any means, but some of the best advice I ever recieved in this hobby was that nothing good happens fast.

Hopefully if you have a cycle it will be small and won't affect your fish. GL
