Wife is going to kill me.

I decided to try the Pappone feeding method so I bought all the fresh ingredients and used my wifes (our) blender to mix it all as per the directions. My wife required a lot of coaxing to agree to let me use her blender for such foul stuff.

well, I haven't used a blender in a long time (I'm a beer drinker by nature not a mixed drink person) and kinda forgot how it works. I poured all the ingredients in and put it onto the motor and press power ( I know what you're thinking, he forgot to put the lid on, but no I did at least do that.) I did fail to realize you have to screw the glass container thing down to the ring that keeps the blade sealed within the unit. Suffice to say stuff started pouring out all over the place (motor body, buttons, kitchen counter, into kid's drawings, under the bananas..... you name it)

I did my best to clean everything up (Fortunately she's already in bed during this whole fiasco).

I'll see how things go in the morning. :)

ahahaha. sorry to hear about that.
i think it could be easily hidden, but itll be hard getting it off of the kids drawings and from under the banannas.
good luck!
i hope the food at least came out okay

And if you missed cleaning any, there will be some terrific aromas to alert her.

Did you manage to save enough to make a batch? I made some and have been adding a small cube per week, but don't really see any difference yet.

Wow!!!

Wow!!!

Your gonna peal the skin off those bananas anyway. And if all else fails ask her whats that smell and blame it on the kids Ha,Ha,Ha

Oh dear Lord. I hope you cleaned with bleach....there's nothing worse than the smell of raw fish in the morning

ACK! What a mess!! I HATE making the fish food. I try to make a lot so I only have to do it 1-2 times a year. I can't STAND the smell of fish and I even wear gloves so that my hands don't stink. Good luck cleaning - that's one of my nightmares :eek1:

I'm still alive. :) Leslie, the glove thing is going to happen next time. Even now my hands still smell like uncooked fish. I did fess up as to making the mess. Didn't turn out too badly, but I did I think do a good job of the cleanup and the kitchen only smelled mildly of fish this morning.

Thanks for all the funny comments.

Obidad, I did manage to make a batch. Not sure just how accurate it is though since a lot of fluid poured out. My guess is if I lost anything it was mostly the dissolved sugar which I only did a half dose of anyways as I'm kind of scared of playing the sugar game.

How long have you been feeding with this? My biggest problem I'll encounter is how to shut off the protein skimmer overnight. Mine has to be dialed in and I can't just remove the collection cup to stop the skimming.

I have been feeding for a couple months - but I don't shut off my protein skimmer, and I use a filter sock on the drain to sump. So I am not following the method exactly, and I am only adding one small cube a week.
